We seem to always see them on social media, but who has ever consumed one? The Freakshake, from Australia, is one of the latest trends of 2017. It’s the improved version of a milkshake. There’s ice cream on top, along with all types of toppings: cake, candy, cotton candy, syrup, chocolate bars, cookies, etc. The variations are endless! The name Freakshake derives from the horrors it brings because all of the ingredients can fall apart at any moment. I have no idea how to eat it—it must be funny—and messy.
Montreal wasn’t too far away from the latest trends. At C’ChoColat, you will find some of them. If you have the chance to consume the Freakshake over there, please tell us what you think!
This masterpiece is obviously a very impressive dessert. However, there must be at least 1000 kilocalories in a single dessert. It’s part of the exceptional foods, which are meant to be consumed quite rarely: once a month or less. This dessert is rarely recommended due to its low level of essential nutrients.
Despite everything, eating a Freakshake is an experience in it of itself, that is done to have fun. The milkshake topped with edible decorations is so imposing, original, that it’s delightful for our eyes. The 10th bite will be much different than the first, considering all of its components are different. It’s better to savour every bite than to have a mouthful of it. I would even say that it’s worth sharing a Freakshake with a loved one.
The Freakshake is new in our North American diet, and will perhaps make its way to Montreal. And who knows, we may be able to find it everywhere. I would then ask for a vegan version of it…Mmh almond drink, dark chocolate…
Happy discoveries!
